once upon a time...

all of these things happened...
these are not in order.

I magically ran into Sister Watts, I mean Brianne at this ridiculous rave dance. It was seriously the best. We talked for a long time, it was weird hanging out with her and not doing missionary work. haha. She's coming to my place for Fancy Breakfast on monday. I am so excited. It's going to be just like when she and Sister Reynolds came to our house every sunday morning. Also, I have quite the surprise for her (Sister Reynolds is coming to visit) This is seriously going to be the best weekend, ever.
 These are my lovely roommates.
This day was the best. If you thought this was a group date, you were wrong. One time Brittany made a huge dinner. John and Rachel came over and it was dandy. We tried to invite our FHE brothers over, but they were just being dumb and had homework to do. Anyways, that was not okay, so we took dinner to them. John convinced them that he had a British accent. It was hilarious.
Lacey makes me so happy. One time we wanted pizza and so we looked up pizza places in her phone book. because she has one.

Temple trips are the bomb. Thursdays are seriously my favorite day of the week.
We stay up way too late at our apartment. And then these things happen. I love Brittany.

Brittany and I went to see the Opskamatrists. We skanked up a storm. Ska music is our new favorite thing. John cracked us up the whole night with his awesome skank moves.

John takes us to the best food places. Like Blister's Barbecue inside the Shell gas station. And the Taco Bus. I need to take pictures at the Taco Bus. It's legitimately an old school bus that has been turned into a Taco restaurant. It's a dream.
Once upon a time I surprised Emmy. John was going to Provo for a business trip and so I hitched a ride to Salt Lake and surprised my favorite 16 year old. It was seriously the best. It was so fun talking with John on the way down, listening to all the ridiculousness that he and Aaron wanted me to listen to, and of course getting to hang out with my Salt Lake family that I never get to see was the best part.
Emmy and I's saturday together included Zuppas, Cupcakes, movies, snapchatting Haylee, getting fed by Grandma Jan, and hanging out with Kim.

Did you know Baby Stella and I share a birthday?

We borrowed Saturday's Warrior from Grandma and Grandpa. I have not laughed as hard as I did watching this with Kim in such a long time. Emmy was not entertained, at all. I don't think Kim knew that I knew every word to every song in this lovely musical. Grandma let me take it back to rexburg with me. We made John watch it (because he had never seen it, what kind of Mormon is that?) anyways. We bribed him with roast dinner, and then watched Saturday's Warrior, and get this, he thoroughly appreciated it. He's awesome.

one week down.

so I live in rexburg. this is my life:
I wear sunglasses when it's 15 degrees outside. fyi, the snow is ridiculously bright.

My first week of classes went really well. I thoroughly enjoy all my professors. no duds in that bunch. they are all really engaging and teach their subjects really well.

Here's my room
I love my ikea pillows. thanks aunt megan for the hand-me-down-comforter

Emily is on the left. Kylie is on the right. Not pictured would be Brittany
Some highlights of the week include:
  • Staying up way too late every night chatting with the roommates.
  • Going to dinner with Emily's family Sunday night.
  • Spending hours in the quiet floor of the library. Oh man. I love that place. It was productivity central.
  • Making stir fry, yummy salads, orange chicken, roasted potatoes, and eating peanut butter and bananas while watching psych on my laptop.
  • Going swing dancing with Kayla for her birthday.
  • This trail mix.
One time I put it in my salad , forgetting there were chocolate chips.
I ate salad with chocolate this week, be jealous.
  • Grandma jan caramel popcorn.
  • Stupid movie friday with the roomates.
  • Snow cones.
  •  Elk stew/cupcake/birthday party for Emily  We had a few friends come over and laughed so hard. Between Rachel's crazy stalker stories, crazy cat lady conversations (including watching the I Really Love Cats video on youtube) and talking about all of our future husbands, we had a blast.
I think I can deem my first week at BYUI as a success. Let me leave you with the funniest picture I've seen in a long time.

Drop whatever you're doing, guys. This is a baby kangaroo in pajamas.

Here's the deal...

I told myself one time in middle school that when I was in college I would start a blog in order to record my adventures.

Then I realized that it's 2013 now, I am starting college (well, real college) this week and I can't disappoint middle school Mickayla.

I'll be moving to Rexburg, Idaho on Friday, studying chemistry education. As pathetic as it sounds, I am so excited for the school part of school. I am excited for classes and learning and working hard. Ask me in two weeks if I feel the same way, but for now, studying sounds exciting.
